Questions Never Asked- Sabrina El-Abry

1. If Kino hadn't found the pearl by the end of chapter 2, what other options would he have to save Coyotito(his son)?
If Kino really wanted to save his son, he might've sold the canoe to pay the doctor. After that, they might not have any money for food because of how poor they'd become.

2. How do you think the pearl will affect them from this point?
Since they've been poor for a long time, they might not know how to react to the drastic change. My guess is they'll be learning a lot from their mistakes in the next few chapters.

3. What kinds of obstacles did Kino and his family have to face in poverty? What obstacles would they face if they were wealthy?
Kino and his family might've been worried about what they were going to have for dinner in the evening. Now they might have to control what they spend on.

4. Do you think the story would appeal to a wider range of people if the author had mentioned how Kino and Juana had originally met?
Yes I definitely think that the story would appeal to a wider range of people because there is a large amount of people that like romance. It might not be a lot more people but it's still more people.

5. How would Coyotito react to his scorpion sting if he was older?
Coyotito would probably run away from it instead of play with it. He would've had a much higher chance of not getting stung.

  1. Great variation of questions - plot and characters etc. Try and incorporate quotes from the novel where possible.
