1. "Now, in an instant, Juana knew that the old life was gone forever." Pg.60
Juana has been trying to find the peace she had before they found the pearl. Now that Kino has killed another man, she lost all hope. She found that she had an immense amount of inner peace before they found the pearl.
2. ""This pearl has become my soul," said Kino." Pg.67
Kino has become so attached to the pearl that it's become a part of him. I personally believe that it's a bad thing to get attached to material items.
3. "...the music of the pearl had become sinister in his ears, and it was interwoven with the music of evil." Pg.71
Kino now realizes that the pearl is evil. Before he didn't believe how evil it was and thought that there was a future in the pearl. His wife Juana, had warned him several times about it but he repetitively refused to give it up.
4. "She picked up a little twig from the ground and tickled him.." Pg.72
Even though Juana is going through such a rough time, she still makes time for baby Coyotito and tries to play with him as much as possible. Usually adults get so lost in their own problems that they forget about the little ones.
5. "And the music of the pearl drifted to a whisper and disappeared." Pg.90
At the end of the story Juana and Kino throw away the pearl because all it brought was misfortune into the family. They became more at peace with their lives' in the ending.
Excellent piece of work! The color and spacing of the text makes it fabulous to read. The images are superb keep up the excitingly appealing work.
